At the center, without chaos!
Comfortable and clean room, with small fridge.
Bath and shower ok, with hairdryer. Courtesy slippers.
The property offers a common room where you can prepare a coffee/tea h/24.
Diocletian's palace and the seafront can be reached in a few minutes walk.
If you are lucky you can park your car for free on the sidewalk in front of the building entrance or in the street of the supermarket "Tommy" which is behind the structure. Absolutely avoid parking with the bar next to the building because it costs € 5.00 per hour. Possibility also in deposit roads, on blue stripes at about 1.70/h

I had a fantastic experience at the Upstairs Design Room. The location is simply great, just a short stroll away from Riva and the Palace. Additionally, there's a convenient Tommy grocery store right behind the building.
The room itself was spacious and clean. One feature that I particularly appreciated was the layout, with the sink located outside of the shower and toilet area, providing added convenience and practicality.
The staff, especially Dajana, went above and beyond to ensure a delightful stay. I had signed up for two local tours that required early morning meet-ups, causing me to miss breakfast. However, Dajana arranged a pre-packed breakfast for me to pick up.
Overall, I highly recommend the Upstairs Design Room for its excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and the exceptional assistance provided by the helpful staff.

Super nice!
Stayed in UP THERE design room for 6 nights and would totally recommend! The staff was extremely helpful and nice, breakfast was soooo delicious (also note, it is served at a restaurant just across the street), the room was always super clean and tidy plus the air con worked without any problems! The location of the hotel is perfect, just a few steps to the center and to the nearest beach and also, you might get a room with amazing view overlooking the whole city (and amazing sunset views as the sun goes down behind the mountains!!). We had a very pleasant stay, thank you!

Modern, clean hotel near the beach and city center with kind staff.
We have stayed in hotel for 5 nights. Hotel is located in very good place, near the beach and the city center. The hotel is modern with very clean and spacious rooms. View through the room window was stunning, our room was with the view to mountains and it was amazing. In the morning You open your eyes and first what You saw was the peaks of mountains and the sun rises. Hotel has a small kitchen, were You could made a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy fresh fruits or sweets. Breakfast were prepared in hotel Villa Diana (hotel located opposite to UP THERE). Food was delicious, but all days the same and the choise of food was very short. Administrators of hotel pleasant, helpful and kind. According their restaurant recommendations we ate very delicious seafood and try local cuisine. Near hotel is city beach, which we didn’t like, so they suggested to us a Kasjuni beach where we enjoyed clear water, beach and nice landscape. I recommend hotel for travelers who want to live near the city center in modern, clean and quite hotel with helpful staff.

Great location
We recently visited up there design rooms for a week's stay. Our first contact with the hotel was before we arrived as we were contacted via email to ask if we wanted to arrange an airport shuttle, the price of this was 250 kuna which was much cheaper than any other transfer we had looked at and so we were pleased to accept this, which worked our perfectly for us when we arrived. The hotel is just a short walk (about 10 minutes for us, in our 20's of average fitness) from the main centre of Split and has plenty of smaller shops, tourist/excursion centres and restaurants surrounding the building. The bus/ferry terminals are nearby too, convenient for exploring other areas or island hopping. We arrived too early for usual check in at 2pm however, the staff accommodated us by providing us with a drink from the coffee machine at reception, that can be used free of charge any time during the day, and informed us they would have the room ready for us asap. During this time the receptionist went out of his way to give us lots of helpful information, maps and booklets for us to plan our holiday in Split. Within 20 minutes our room was ready for us and did not disappoint, the room was very clean, and the view of the mountains from our window was stunning. The room provides a safe, mini fridge with one complimentary 1ltr bottle of water, comfortable bed, efficient air con, toiletries, hair dryer and a fantastic shower. Breakfast is at Toc's bistro just a 2 minute walk from the hotel which was fine for us but may not be ideal for everybody. The only downsides to our stay were that the breakfast menu at Toc's was very limited and we found ourselves having the same breakfast for most of the days. Our other issue was that roads outside were really busy and noisy late into the evening, the window in our room did not close properly either, we think the latch was broken, which meant the noise of the road was even louder for us most evenings, but we were able to sleep eventually. Other than this we were impressed with our stay and glad of the complimentary umbrellas at reception that we could borrow as it was pretty rainy for our stay.
