Clean, great bed, surprisingly quiet

This hotel was quite good. I had a string of hotels over the past few weeks with very hard mattresses and a fair bit of noise at night - this place had neither of those issues. With a soft bed (by Vietnam standards) and quiet room, I slept great. They were very helpful in booking a boat tour of the markets for us on a small boat. They also booked our bus for us up to Chau Doc and didn't try charging us extra (as prices are often inflated by hotels). It was just a great little hotel and I recommend it.

For one day is good

The location was perfect near the port of the floating market
There were noise Late in the morning because the The building next to the hotel was under construction. Bad sound insulation and in the morning we were waking up from the people who were going to the floating market

Cheap, basic accommodation in a good location

I stayed in 2 different rooms. They were in two different wings of the hotel and practically identical. Decent beds, good AC. However one of them had a foul smell coming out of the bathroom. If you overlook the smelly bathroom, this hotel is decent value for the money given that it's practically next to the docks and all the action. A few things to note, though:
- please note that the floating market tour through Ms Ut, who's associated with the hotel, is a lot more expensive than what you can book yourself by going to the docks and negotiating with one of the boat(wo)men or through the information desk. You can get an identical private boat and touring experience for up to 1/2 the price she quotes.
- the hotel does not serve breakfast.
- if you don't want them to hold your passport, pay up front for your stay.
- the front desk staff is helpful and can help you book your onward journey.

Great location next to the pier for boat tours of the floating markets

Great location!
On check in, there is a guy who will sell you a tour of the floating markets, but we found it easy to walk to the pier / wharf (2-3 min walk from hotel) and make the arrangements ourselves directly with the boat owners, and the price was much better this way.
The boat owners run these tours frequently so it is easy, and ours even met us at the hotel in the morning ready for our tour, so we didn't have to worry about how to find them at the pier.
Hotel itself was cheap, good value, clean and comfortable. Rooms are small but perfectly adequate for 1 or 2 nights.
Staff are friendly and they helped arrange our onward bus journey, at no extra cost cost.. But this had the added benefit that the bus company then came to collect us directly from the hotel.

Great hotel, great location

I was underwhelmed when I arrived at Ruby Hotel. It looked a bit blah and they wanted to keep my passport. However, I very quickly revised my opinion. My room was really good - clean, well looked after, comfortable, ample space. There was plenty of hot water and the shower had good pressure. There was also a great wifi connection. It's in an ideal location right in the centre of town, only minutes away from the river and the night market. The staff were fantastic - so helpful and lovely. I enjoyed it here so much that I extended my stay by an extra night.
