Less than 3 blocks from Brava Beach B&B Hostel offers practical dorm rooms with free Wi-Fi in Punta del Este. A daily breakfast with fruits and bread is offered and there are shared kitchen facilities. B&B is 3 blocks from Gorlero Street and only 150 metres from the bus station. La Mansa Beach is 250 metres away. Rooms feature fans and shared bathroom facilities, some of them located inside the room. There are laundry facilities. Guests can enjoy drinks from the bar and make use of PCs with Internet access at the lobby. Please inform B&B Hostel in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. Based on local tax laws, Uruguayan citizens must pay an additional fee of 10%. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation. The property will charge a USD 5 charge for keys and bed linens, which will be fully refunded upon check-out and return. The minimum amount to charge with a credit card is USD 20. Would not recommend!
We didn't like our stay at this hostel at all. We stayed in the 'twin room' which is in the basement and was freezing cold. There is no key to the room so it's more like a two bed dorm.
The kitchen is really not great. It has two hobs to cook on but else not much to offer. If you want to cook pasta and a sauce you will be fine but other than that you might struggle.
The bathrooms were quite dirty and the shower was warmish.
The location is good though. 5 mins to the bus terminal and to the 'hand' and to the beaches. Punta shopping mall is a 25 min walk away for cinema and a larger supermarket (something to do in off season)
Most shops are closed and there really is almost nothing going on in the town during this time. I would stay here a night max purely because of the proximity to the bus station.

Friendly, but dirty
+ very friendly staff
+ good breakfast at a good time (9-11)
+ perfect location close to the center of the city and only a 15 minute walk away from the big shopping mall where you can get everything
+ nice common area outside and in the reception
+ perfectly working Wi-Fi
- sadly, the bathrooms are nothing else than disgusting. They look like they haven't been cleaned in months
- the beds are poor and the whole dorm is very noisey
- even though the common area is nice, it's still only outside and there's nowhere you can go if it rains
