Amazing luxury lodge with personal service
This was a true luxury experience in an incredible setting. Service, food, accommodations, views were all 5 star. Special recognition for the outstanding people that made this stay unforgettable: Delphine who serenaded us every morning when delivering coffee and took care of every need; Pacific who made our meals special; Chantal and Jennifer who gave us the best massages ever; our driver Dennis who went above and beyond to accommodate every request. Excellent laundry service and close proximity to gorilla trekking activities. We loved it!

Virunga Lodge
The lodge was absolutely beautiful!! The staff was incredible - always willing to help and go above and beyond. Clemont, our butler, was amazing. Complimentary massages are a really nice perk. Jennifer, my masseuse, was excellent. Almost forgot - the food was delicious!! Overall, I would highly recommend the Lodge.

An exceptional place and people at Virunga Lodge
We are just at Kigali airport leaving our amazing Volcanoes experience. It was truly life changing. The experience with the Gorillas was something that I will never forget
Virunga Lodge was beautiful but was outshone by the tremendous service that we received from our concierge tour guide Vincent. He was informative, took incredible care of our every need including the muddiest boots that I have ever seen with a smile and cold wine AND most of all seemed to know exactly what we needed at every turn.
We also received outstanding service from all the staff but particularly Alexis management of the entire team including Clement our butler who also took care of our every need. The team was truly exceptional - from morning wake up tea to wonderful food, hot water bottles in our beautiful bed and a fire in the room. It was beyond description.

This is the place to stay!
Absolutely splendid all around. From Ezra, my butler, Fiston the Chef and to the rest of the staff. Just wonderful people. I miss them already. And the accommodations and views are really out of this World! Special mention to my driver, Sam. Just a wonderful human being. His caring and professionalism was first class as well. I miss you all and thank you for a very memorable experience. God bless you all.

Amazing Rwanda experience
Our stay at Virunga Lodge was truly the experience of a lifetime. I traveled here with my dad, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen something incredibly special. Before booking this trip, I spent countless hours researching lodges in Rwanda for gorilla trekking, and I can confidently say choosing Virunga Lodge was one of the best travel decisions I’ve ever made. The views, the hospitality, the attention to detail, and the warmth of every single person we encountered exceeded every expectation.
I first want to recognize Boniface, who was exceptional throughout the entire booking process. From my very first email, he was responsive, patient, informative, and incredibly kind. I had many questions while planning such an important trip, and he made everything feel seamless and stress-free. His communication and professionalism gave me complete confidence that we were in the best hands before we even arrived.
Our guide, Denis, absolutely made this trip unforgettable. He went above and beyond every single day to make sure my dad and I had an amazing experience. Denis was knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about Rwanda and the guests he was guiding. He made us feel safe and welcomed throughout the entire journey. By the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend than a guide. If you are lucky enough to have Denis guiding you, you are in excellent hands.
A huge thank you as well to Angel and Marc, our 2 porters, who were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our trekking experience. Their positivity and hard work did not go unnoticed and truly enhanced our adventure.
Ezra, our butler, provided outstanding service and made us feel so comfortable and cared for during our stay. He even made a fire in our rooms every night before bed. Every detail was handled with professionalism.
Grace, my massage therapist, gave one of the best massages I’ve ever had — amazing after trekking. It was such a relaxing and restorative experience.
We also had wonderful gorilla trekking guides, Eugene and Daniel, who made the trek both exciting and educational. Seeing the Izuba gorilla family was something I will never forget for the rest of my life. It was emotional, surreal, and deeply moving.
Another highlight of the trip was stopping at the Kinigi women’s village, where we bought beautiful gifts to bring home to our loved ones. I also purchased a special painting from a local artist named Joseph, whose work is absolutely incredible. It’s now one of the most meaningful pieces of art I own and will always remind me of this unforgettable experience.
Virunga Lodge is not just a beautiful place to stay — it’s an experience filled with genuine people, unforgettable moments, and memories that will last forever. Thank you to everyone who made this trip so meaningful for my dad and me. We will cherish it forever!
