Awesome hotel

Friendly staff, clean and central location and rooms. Breakfast is simple but delicious. Definitely recommend staying here if you want a smaller hotel rather than something large and loud. Walkable to most if not all tourist attractions.

Gorgeous Room

We stayed in the family room which was huge, very clean and comfortable with a unique Peruvian style.The entire Inn is lovely and homely but unfortunately it is let down by the service. We only saw 1 guy the entire time we were there, other that the lady making the breakfast. He didn't seem to be bothered trying to answer any simple questions even in Spanish and we got the feeling he didn't want to be there which was a shame as the inn could be perfect with the right staff.

Wonderful little place!

Our stay here couldn’t have been better, it was clean and comfortable and in a fantastic location, literally minutes from the main square and an amazing restaurant that we didn’t leave once we’d found!! The staff were wonderful, they couldn’t do enough for us - even giving us hot water bottles when we got in from a cold night out!! It had a lovely family feel to it and like you were really being looked after. Highly recommend the hotel and the spa experience was excellent, just what we needed after climbing Machu Picchu!

Lovely spot—conveniently located, but annoying doorbell

I stayed at the Samana for 2 days after getting back from the Inca Trail as a treat (having spent my first several days in Cusco at an Airbnb.) The bed and pillows were super comfy, the room homey, and they were able to provide a portable radiator to keep my room warm. (Most places in Cusco are unheated.) It’s located just north of the Plaza de Armas and close to some of the best restaurants in town. My only complaint is that they understaff the inn (I never saw more than one person at a time running around trying to do everything—serve breakfast, manage the lobby, fix up rooms, etc.) Because of this (I’m guessing) they have a system where they keep the front door locked for safety (since that one person is too busy to sit at the lobby). Instead, there’s an obnoxious doorbell that people have to ring to get let in. The noise from the bell kind of counteracts the whole spa feeling—my room was just above the lobby so it was distracting—and it also makes it a pain to come and go. But, all in all, a lovely spot.

Bad service at reception

I did the Inka Trail Relief package and requested to extend my massage to 1.5 hours. I emailed the spa and was told it is okay. When I arrive at the place, the person at the reception was very unfriendly and told me they cannot do 1.5 hours of massage. When I told him the email says otherwise, he relented and I proceeded with the massage. However, they did not give me the facial as indicated in the package and when confronted, the receptionist says it’s because I replaced it with extra 30 minutes massage. The whole service was horrible and I feel cheated. Even though the massage was pretty good. would not recommend going to the spa.

Hello I’m very sorry you feel that your
experience a the spa wasn’t great however when you receive the ink a trail package it is a hour massage and an half hour facial so as you recieved the hour and a half massage this would explain why you did not receive your facial as our bookings are booked out in time slots and the receptionist would have just assumed you were dropping the facial for the extra 30 min massage our staff are very professional and have to stick to time slots within spa. As you stated yourself the massage was good so I’m glad you enjoyed that.
