Wonderful place

House is very quiet, 10 min by foot of bus terminal, close to the stores and market.
The owner has cute cats and dogs. She can give a lot of information: how to rent the car, where to take an excursion, how to go on somewhere to your own (by bus, taxi); A lot of places in David (not in Boquete): waterfalls, rivers, canyons, mountains.

DO NOT GO

The manager of that hostel is very disrespectful; if you asked her something, she wouldn't let you speak.
They have cats with fleas, and to make matters worse, my cat was left full of fleas; you couldn't leave the air conditioning on to go to the bathroom.

More than a hostel, a warm home stay

I’m on my second year of solo travelling and visited hundreds of hostels. This place did not feel like one. It felt like coming to a friend s house. The host, who lives in the house with the guests, cannot do more to help and to make your stay enjoyable.
It was wonderful to get out of the impersonal vibe of most hostels and be in a place which felt like a home.
There are friendly dogs and cats living in the premises so if you are an animal lover, you will enjoy it way more.
This was my second visit and for sure not the last.

Wish more were like this one

Great hostel. It's clean, nice interior, kitchen's good, and the setting is peaceful. There are pets but no hair to contend with as they are always chilling on the back patio. Taxi may try to take you to another hostel (they get a $1 for that), but the drivers are nice and they will proudly take you to Pacasa if you want. David is a cool town to explore that seems to always know the perfect temperature to serve a Balboa. Cheers

Held Hostage

We were held hostage by the owner of the hostel due to the fact that my friend had been drugged and vomited on the front tile. The landlady wanted more money for cleaning it up and would not allow me to clean it myself. She wouldn't let my friend inside the house (or to leave) to shower and get cleaned up. She made my friend lie on the cold tile locked inside the gate but outside the house. The landlady continually cursed in my face and shoved me away from the door every time I tried to get in. We were in distress for 3 hours from 3 AM to 6 AM. I ended up getting a hold of my Panamanian friend who drove over and helped to call the local police (who managed to get us out) and took us back to his house. The neighbor lady came over to the gate while I was locked inside and told me that the hostel owner has a history of such treatment of quests, has stolen passports and bikes in the past, and has a drug problem. The hostel itself was not clean and very, very hot at night. I realize a lot of people look for cheap places to stay, but I would 10/10 NOT recommend this place. Your safety is worth more than a cheap establishment to stay.
