Cool and simple

This is a small, recently built b&b in Marinella, near Porto Empedocle (Montalbano's Vigata) on the South coast of Sicily.
Wake up between clean, white sheets, see white curtains floating in the sunshine and sense the sea outside. The two rooms at the front have terraces looking towards the palm trees that fringe the beach.
Everything works: the lighting is nice, the air conditioning quiet and the shower excellent. A friendly cleaner comes every day.
Altogether a restful place to stay.

Very disappointing

Booked and paid in advance for this hotel through Expedia. When we arrived to check in the place looked as if it was shut down, the doors and gates were locked and all the window shutters down, it was 7pm early evening. I phoned the hotel repeatedly but they didn't answer, we waited for about an hour and half but saw no one enter or leave the place. By this time we started to worry about where we were going to stay the night, neighbouring hotels said they were full but in the end managed to find another hotel 5 miles away. Hotel Costa del sol have refused to refund my £135, saying they were open for business we just didn't show up. My advice would be to steer clear of this place at all cost.

Nice but poorly organised

We booked this b&b for a night during a tour of sicily . It was impossible to find (poor directions by the owner given on the phone and no signposts or door number outside). He told me to go into hotel next door (???!!!) to check in and I was escorted to the room. Everything was unplugged (fridge, TV, coffee machine - everything) and the fridge had a puddle inside and on the floor... we had to literally go under the table and plug everything in... not ideal. It would be helpful to explain to guests that you must check in next door and absurd that whilst you use the hotel for breakfast you have to pay to use the pool? The pictures on the website are misleading and there's no mention of extra fees../

Il B&B si trova su un lungomare a senso unico con apposita insegna e numero civico (che vi è stato comunicato per telefono). Se dopo aver visto l'hotel per il check-in avrebbe preferito soggiornare li piuttosto che al B&B bastava pagare il costo dell'hotel e usufruire di tutti i suoi servizi invece di trovare difetti inesistenti nella camera del B&B. Su booking (sito dal quale ha prenotato) trova scritto che per usufruire della piscina bisogna pagare un supplemento; in ogni caso dopo aver usufruito della lauta colazione di un hotel 4 stelle,ad un prezzo di B&B, mi sembra davvero ridicolo lamentarsi per un supplemento di €5,00 per la piscina. Inoltre il suo educato compagno tornando dalla spiaggia si è lavato i piedi nella fontana dell'hotel tra lo stupore degli altri clienti anche se il B&B è dotato di doccia esterna con acqua calda. Modern Delight

This B&B/ hotel is a set of rooms in a villa style development. The owner has spent much time and attention on the quality of room and bathroom. The room is equiped with good quality air conditioning and the shower is of high quality. The rooms are cleaned daily by a very nice cleaner
The villa is right next to a lovely beach.
I would whole heartedly recommend this accomodation

Tutto perfetto tranne l'aria condizionata

Tutto perfetto, ottima posizione, buona la stanza. La colazione di fa al Hotel affianco (il B&B è direttamente collegato con l' hotel). situato fronte mare e si può usufruire del parcheggio dell'hotel. Unica nota negativa è stata che il condizionatore a muro anche se visibilmente nuovo non era funzionante e ad agosto in Sicilia non è il massimo. Purtroppo non sono stati in grado di ripararlo quindi abbiamo passato una settimana "calda". Il gestore quasi alla fine del soggiorno ci ha fornito un condizionatore portatile che si è reso inutilizzabile causa il troppo rumore notturno. Unica cosa ottenuta alla fine della vacanza un piccolissimo (issimo issimo) sconto per il disagio subito. Per il resto tutto bene. Ottima la colazione con tanta scelta e gentile la ragazza di sala alla colazione
