Overlooking the Luster Fjord and Feigum Waterfall, this waterfront inn is 30 minutes’ drive from Sogndal. It provides free WiFi and a surrounding garden with outdoor seating and a playground.

Best hotel of our trip

Great hotel spread over a number of buildings. We booked the Mirror room - a glass box up on the hill side with stunning views up and down the fjord. Food was delicious - a set menu served at 7pm each evening on shared tables in a traditional dining room - very sociable. The best meals we had in our 10 day stay in Norway. Lots of activities available on site - they have their own private swimming jetty in the fjord and a sauna and kayaks to hire. We chose to do a glacier hike and a driving trip to Ornes stave church and around the fjord - both were great days out. We spent three nights at Nes Gard but would happily have stayed longer.

Extremely nice location

Located in a very nice surrounding, it is a very quiet place. We arrived via Solvorn, Urnes church and Skjolden and enjoyed so much this scenic road. The owners as well as all staff are very friendly, ready to explain and give advice. The room (standard double room) we received was rather small and dark, with view on the yard. No space to open your luggage unless on the bed. No TV, no coffee or tea. We found the matrass very (too) soft. We regret not having benefit of a room with magnificent view on the fjord. The breakfast was fine with excellent bread but the choice of fruits was very limited. A dinner was part of our arrangement. Very testy with nice presentation, however some more vegetables would have been welcome… or a “repasse” . Overall, a positive experience.

Top place - great starting point for a trip

Nes Gard is a fantastic place. Nice host and staff, good food and drink, sauna and swimming pool, refreshing fjord, and not least a great starting point for great trips. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and got some proper sunshine tours up in the mountain world. Can recommend Nes Gard on the warmest to turglade adults.

Nes Gard stay in Norway

Nes Gard is a lovely spot to stay. We stayed 5 nights and had a wonderful experience. The renovated farm sits on a fjord with an amazing view of a waterfall. The food was top notch and used locally sourced fruits and vegetables. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious. The owner was very friendly and spent time chatting with us on many days. He made us feel welcome.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful view

This family run farm hotel in the most beautiful spot is a find. Everyone is so warm and friendly and helpful. I have dietary restrictions and their five star chef went out of his way to create delicious meals for me. I loved staying there and highly recommend it.
