Very careful with thefts at this hotel

One night we went out to eat and stored everything in the safe deposit box, the next morning when we were about to go on an excursion we realized that we were missing $100 and a credit card, I don't know how they do it but a pretty unpleasant experience

Mid-range hotel with friendly staff

The hotel is centrally located and you can easily get from A to B on foot. Alternatively, you can rent bikes. Slightly more expensive than usual, but you don't have to deposit your passport for that. The room is ok, large with comfortable beds, however there are no storage facilities or options to hang clothes. The wardrobe is in the bathroom, with high humidity without trigger not really clever. There are also no hangers. Without any problems, a reasonable wardrobe could be built into the large main room.
We would like to highlight Kimberley and Alexis from the reception. We had some small problems and both of them supported us great(transfer booked, early check in and late check out organized etc.) That really helped us! Thanks for that!

Okay

Bad start as we were given a room with a broken toilet and took awhile for anybody to come and address the situation. However we were moved into a better room eventually. Sadly another of our rooms (as we booked two), featured a broken shower head. Food was decent and staff was nice.

Unethical and inconsiderate

Myself and a group of 5 other people were supposed to travel to Tulum on July 5th. Hurricane Beryl hit Tulum and our flight was cancelled. We contacted the Kaab hotel and let them know the situation and they stated that they would not be able to refund us our money because we did not purchase an insurance. We explained that we had every intention of going but had no way of doing so because the flight was not going to fly out at all. Long story short, we were not able to attend this trip and the hotel did not refund us our money. Don’t trust these small hotels, they are very inconsiderate and will use any opportunity to rip you off!

We are very sorry for situations like this. At KB Tulum, we are always thinking of our guests.
We understand that with Hurricane Beryl, which is a situation we cannot control, flights and trips were cancelled and delayed.
Unfortunately when reservations are made through Booking or other sales channel with non-refundable rate, it is not possible for us as a hotel to make a refund. You would have to request the refund through the sales channel you made your reservation (booking, expedia, etc.) KB Tulum, can refund you when you make your reservation through our website. If you have your reservation number, or name to whom it is made, we can check it. However, we offered you a change of date, as it is the only solution we can give you. If you still have your reservation number, and you plan to come to Tulum on another date, we can respect your reservation. Please contact us. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and hope you can plan your trip at a later date.
