Wonderful Portuguese Villa Stay
Our 5 day stay allowed us to fully enjoy the beautiful villa. The balcao at the front was the coolest spot. Curl up and enjoy your book and coffee. Kudos to the team for maintaining the original character of the villa and its heritage. The airy rooms with high ceilings, a regal bathroom and a gorgeous wooden log dining table around which we ate, drank, played games.
Monica was most helpful and we learnt a lot about Chorao and the villa from her. Victoria was most efficient and pleasant.
We enjoyed morning walks, dinner at Lafayette, visit to the churches, the Devki temple and an early morning boat ride with Uday Birdman and the birds and mangroves at the sanctuary. A great way to start 2023!
If any negative, we got unlucky with two days of noisy construction next door, but happens!

Horrible, forgetful stay
I stayed at the Goa Seclude for a few days recently. My stay was rather forgetful and I thought I should drop a note.
1. On the evening we landed, there was no light in the bedroom. There were people trying to fix it right in our bedroom, leaving us no space to refresh after a long journey.
2. All that left a lot of footprints and soil all over the bedroom. Of course the lights couldn't be fixed so we had to request them to come next day.
3. The day was worse. We had an electrician in our bedroom whole day. We had a construction truck outside, doing work for the manager's upcoming home. The noise was constant and unbearable. We couldn't sit out. We couldn't be in peace inside.
4. The rooms were not cleaned at all. There were massive spider webs all over including where we were cooking. Clearly it was not cleaned for ages. The bathroom bolts were not working. We had to get someone to clean the webs. Of course once we cleaned them, it didn't come back for the next few days pointing to the fact that no one cleaned it for at least a month. Had to buy oil and pour it on the bathroom hinges for them to work.
5. Btw the cleaning lady left unannounced and finished the remaining next day. Highly unprofessional. And the lights stopped working again.
6. Day 3 had truck sound as well. Completely unbearable. Day 4, when the truck was gone was replaced constant hammer and chisel sound.
7. To make matters worse, internet was mostly not working. While it was not their fault, absence of internet in a noisy, dusty, unclean place was another bad experience in a long list of bad experiences.
The place is not fit to be leased out for holidays. It is poorly managed and fails to live up to its potential. I hope you never have to go through a bad holiday like us.
