A stay I didn’t know I needed.
I arrived for check-in a little later than expected. Upon arrival the greeting and warmth from Monika and Andres was felt. They helped with the luggage to the room, gave a tour and overview.
The room was cozy, bright, clean, comfortable in temperature and the bed was dreamy.
There was a sitting area if you wanted to watch TV, a dining table and chairs, a mini fridge, some utensils, French press and hot water kettle.
At first, when I read about an indoor outdoor shower I thought “oh no bugs”. Not a chance. One day the water was not running warm, I called and Andres got right on it and fixed the issue. I had a cool shower I didn’t know I needed in the indoor/outdoor environment - quite energizing. The shower was the best part for me. Now I want and indoor/outdoor shower at my home.
Each morning I took advantage of starting my day on the private patio, overlooking the extensive lush and beautiful garden while listening to the roosters (it was so grounding), I loved it. Did I mention, the entire property is a lush green oasis. Well maintained.
Another thing I appreciated was how Monika connected with me each day, providing site-seeing events, tours, restaurants (I’m a foodie) so most places she recommended was right up my ally, some of my faves whenever I visit.
She also spent some quality time showing me around. I enjoyed it and will always treasure that time. I needed it!
Upon leaving she left me with a beautiful surprise…I will treasure forever.
Monika, if you are reading this…you were heaven sent for me on that visit;)

Great spot.
Our host was knowledgeable about where to eat and what places were good to see.
Our room was well appointed and quiet except for the rain and the birdsong, which we loved. I’d recommend to anyone.

Joyful and Peaceful Stay

Hosted Paradise
André and Monika, the hosts, have created an amazing piece of property including a big lush garden with a wide varity of trees and shrubs. Just sitting on the deck and watching nature is pure joy here!
The property is developed with their own residence, next up the Tucan villa we stayed in, an outdoor kitchen/dining place (for the owners use) as well as two new studios further up the hill.
The big property makes for nice walks and expeditions. Iguanas, humming birds, all kinds of spiders and tarantulas, scorpions (we had one in the bathroom - make sure to check your shoes!!!) and of course the owners dogs (seven of them, which stay in their space).
The apartment is very thoughfully layed out and furnished, has 3 bedrooms, one bath, living/dining area, kitchen, outdoor area with bbq as well as a big covered porch with table/chairs and a beach chair.
If I would have to critizise anything, it would be the lack of shelves/drawers in the master bedroom, which seems to be the smallest room with the bigger bed and less storage than both other rooms. For two it was a bit tricky to unpack...
Monika and André were there for us no matter the inquiry and also a rich source of information about things to do, the country and its people, tips on restaurants/shopping and anything in between!
The accommodation is in a perfect location to explore the "interior" of Belize: San Ignacio, the ATM cave (ask Monika about her recommended tour guide!), Pine Ridge Forest, Belmopan etc. and not far from the Hummingbird Highway to the coast.
