Centrally located budget minded clean hotel - no views out of most windows
Positives-
—Hotel is centrally located - can easily walk to places like the Central Market, Presidential Palace, Fort Zeelandia, Suriname River, etc.
—Very budget oriented
—This is not a conventional AirBnB - it’s a hotel. Hence, the front desk is manned 24/7
—Very comfortable bed
—Excellent Hotel Manager - was on top of things and was very friendly and personable
—Quiet room (mine was on the 1st floor)
—Everything is kept very clean
—Very good WiFi
—Good water pressure
—Good warm water for showering
—Nice staff
—A/C in room was good (needed room key to operate)
—Owner of hotel was on-site almost daily
—Breakfast was good but basic (extra charge at my room rate)
Negatives-
—Room has a window but looked at adjacent building wall just inches away. Almost all the rooms have no view.
—I had a prepaid room, but upon checkin they wanted to collect payment again (I showed proof of prepayment). I figured it was due to me using a booking platform that was rarely used. They then wanted my credit card number “for their records” which I refused. The issue was cleared up the next day.
—The hotel is located right across from a bus station. In any city including this one, that generally means it is not in the best of areas. Most people would not feel comfortable walking around this area at night. However, walking around during the day is no problem at all.
—At night (for example 8-9p weekdays), literally all business in the area close down (and I mean everything).
Summary-
I would stay here again.
