Located in Galewela, Mango Tree Retreat is in a rural area. Sigiriya and Sigiriya are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Dambulla Cave Temple and Sri Lanka. A very comfortable stay

It was 2023 October. My son and I were on a rather long (push)bicycle and were searching the internet for accommodation options in Galewela when we ‘found’ Mango Retreat. After the exchange of a few e-mails the owners kindly agreed to let us stay while letting us know that the finishing touches to the property where being completed as the planned date for its opening was a couple of months away. We arrived tired after having cycled but, found the place perfect for our stay. No doubt the owner had taken an extra effort to see that the room we occupied was complete, spotlessly clean and made ‘up-to-date’ with everything we needed.
The caretaker who received us was kind and briefed us on all what we needed to know.
The two of us had a much-needed rest throughout the afternoon. Although the facility did not provide food at the time, the small (Sri Lankan style) way side ‘restaurant’ almost just across the road sorted the need for food.
Early next morning, after a good night’s sleep we were off on our bicycles lock, stock and barrel.
It certainly was a comfortable stay.
