Hostal Centro Sol is set in a renovated neoclassical building in Cádiz' old town, 150 metres from Cádiz Cathedral. It is a 15-minute walk from La Caleta Beach. Featuring tiled floors, all rooms are air conditioned and have a TV, desk and wardrobe.

Quiet and very clean

It’s tucked in a corner but it’s quiet and very clean. The manager was friendly, spoke English and allowed me to check in early. Would highly recommend the location as it is walking distance from the Cathedral and beaches.

FOR A PASSING NIGHT SERVES ITS FUNCTION; CHEAP AND CENTRAL

The first thing to say that the picture with those windows on the outside, I didn't see them anywhere in my room, was totally interior with two windows to a hallway. It is a shame because the hostel has its charm with a central courtyard, Andalusian style with tiles on the walls of colorful cheerful. A change in furniture and bedding and curtains would work a miracle. It is in the same center and very close to the port, cathedral, flower square, supply market that I recommend visiting with a lot of atmosphere, so that for what we wanted fulfilled its function, rest a night passing. What you have no explanation for is finding the water brush inside the bin. In a bazaar of everything at € 1 for a pittance sell the brush and the appropriate container. It was disgusting to throw papers or a water bottle into a bin containing a brush, this has no apology possible.

I would NEVER recommend this hostel, without anything else to add.

It was a mistake to have chosen this hostel, WITHOUT FIRST reading the opinions. As soon as I arrived I didn't like it, the very dark reception gave you a very bad impression, the hostel is nothing nice, ugly and old. The rooms were dusty, the towels were old and stained, I asked for new ones and they gave me other old, disgusting towels again. The behavior of the owner left a lot to be desired, unpresentable, rude. When another person in the next room flushed the toilet or took a shower, you could hear that noise, without comment. Then there was another person who I suppose was the owner and he was seen every day smoking at the entrance of the hostel and that's why the whole building smelled like cigarettes.

Excellent location. Personable service in three languages.

Excellent location and very personable service from the workers there especially Rafael. Very clean rooms snd breakfast area. They made my coffee as I ordered it.
Very high security with 24 hr door service. Room cleaning serve every day. I can certainly recommend this hostal which is really a small hotel close to everything.

Poor experience

We booked this hostal more than two months advance, when we arrived, we found it was the last two days of Cadiz Carnival. The boss told us since there were too many guests, so he would like to arrange another room for us for the first night (we total booked 3 nights), & hostal will provide 3 breakfast as compensation, so we agreed. But this is not a fair deal, the room of the first night is very small without air conditioner, the breakfast is just two toast with one cup of coffee, after we asked the 2nd cup of coffee, the staff (who do not understand English) was not happy & saying something in Spanish. The day before we check out, we asked boss if they can prepare breakfast 15 minutes earlier tomorrow morning (general time is 8:00 am) since we have to catch early bus, but the boss directly refused. The room rate is as high as 85 Euro, but the service is poorer than 30 Euro hotels.
