Good enough

It is a nice place where you can get good rest. The only issue is the location since it is far off from downtown. The service is good and the rooms clean.
The staff very friendly and always willing to help.

An Experience

We had booked a room with two beds, but when we arrived, they didn’t have any doubles available, and he gave us 2 single rooms for the price of 1, which I thought was really cool…  then I got to my room.  I hit one of the light switches and it turned a backlight over the bed, um, oook.  Oh, then my friend popped over and came thru my completely open window (which faced in the inside of the building, not the outdoors, btw).  It felt like 100 degrees in there so I turned on my ceiling fan, and it sounded like a swing band playing on my ceiling from all the clanking and squeaking and banging- I thought for sure it would fall off and land on me while I slept.  But it already after midnight when we arrived and I was exhausted, so I was able to somehow sleep. The cold shower in the morning actually felt pretty good.  Breakfast was yummy, and there was WIFI.  We only stayed at this hotel for about 9 hours before we were picked up to go on our jungle expedition.  For the 2 for 1 price (around 12 bucks per room), I can’t complain too much.  It was definitely an experience!!  If you’re looking for comfort, I would definitely not suggest this place.  I remember thinking how much more airflow I would have gotten if I slept outside. The front desk guy was nice enough though, and he had Google Translate handy on the computer, so that was cool.

Unexpected

We stayed 1 night at the Hospedaje Las Amazonas. Our flight arrived at 2300 and we arrived at the hotel via motortaxi shortly after midnight. Staff was easily accessible despite the main entrance being behind a locked gate. Maybe 15 min ride from airport. We had booked a room with 2 double beds which was unavailable so we were given 2 rooms with a single bed. The credit card machine was not working, bring cash with you in case a card is your plan. Not sure where the air conditioning was however there was a fan attached to the ceiling that provided the needed relief from humidity and heat. Without this, it would have been hellish hot. Was in the 80's Fahrenheit. Provided with towel and soap. The water was cold which welcome at the time however if a lover of hot water, keep this in mind. An interesting "black light" was found in both rooms as an option for light.. The window in the room was attached to an air shaft built into the building to allow airflow however did not have a view outside. Breakfast was provided and was unexpected and provided for being full. For the price, this is an alright place, feel the information such as AC was a bit misleading. Noisy of a morning with traffic nearby. Staff did a good job taking care with the options they had.
