Good hotel

Good hotel, located on the main street of Huaraz, there is a very good restaurant in the hotel. The breakfast was terrible, I didn't like it, I took a bite of the bread and there was a huge hair in the bread, for the coffee they give you a cup of hot water and some very concentrated coffee to make the coffee, it's very bad, I had to pay half the daily rate because I arrived in the morning and was too tired to wait until check in time.

Safe & Pleasant Stay in Huaraz

I first want to thank the hotel for allowing me to check-in early at a great deal after taking the 8 hour bus ride from Lima. The hotel is just 2 blocks from the city main square where you can find several tour companies to start planning your trekking adventures. I was happy to see La Aurora hotel have an elevator since I always have trouble breathing when arriving in high altitude cities. The room was cozy, with warm blankets to keep you warm at night. I wish the hot water lasted a bit longer when taking a shower, but the room was perfect for less than $40 USD/night. I really loved the grocery shop on the 1st floor and the hotel restaurant on the 2nd floor. If you're lucky to get a room from the 5th floor, enjoy the views of the city!

Good staff and location

This hotel is in a good location to walk to the city sights. The staff is pleasant and helpful, the room is a good size with a comfortable bed and warm bedding. There is a Third floor rooftop dining terrace with great Mountain View’s and breakfast is served there. Another area also has tables and chairs and hot coffee/tea available all day at no charge. There is a restaurant on the ground floor with a large menu. Tours can be booked at reception. Great hotel!

Great hotel

A very good and nice hotel. Rooms were very clean, and location was great. You sometimes have to explicitly ask for toilet paper/soaps.
The breakfast was very good.
The hotel restaurant is good if you don't want to go out to the busy street, but wouldnt eat there alot.

Beautifully decor, clean, and stunning view from the breakfast table

We enjoyed staying here. The rooms are well appointed and have everything you need. The beds are very comfortable and everything was very clean. The bathrooms are modern and the showers work well. The breakfast was probably the best we had in Peru, very fresh bread, yogurt and granola, and fruit. The coffee was not the best but that was true everywhere in Peru. They make a kind of strong coffee (I think instant) and you add hot water. The only major fault I can find is in the language skills of the front desk staff, with so many international guests, I would have thought multiple languages would be a prerequisite of the job. We ate in the restaurant downstairs one night and it was very good.
