Expert hotel management

The hotel manager Caterina was extremely helpful in our trip preparation and kind and professional when our trip was interrupted by circumstances beyond our control when the ferry from Civitavecchia to Palermo was canceled because of high wind and rough sea. The management handled the problem expertly and made the rest of our vacation pleasant. I would recommend the Locanda al Moro. Robert Marcotullio

Appalling - inaccessible location. Pillows like bricks. Not a hotel! No-one to greet you. Avoid at all costs.

To suggest this is a hotel is a confidence trick. One of the worst bed and breakfasts I have ever been to. No parking nearby - no reception - lousy breakfast.
The beds were uncomfortable and the pillows like concrete blocks. Access to the rooms is up steep steps which are somewhat dangerous if you are old

In the old part of Sciacca

Hotel located in the center of Sciacca in Sicily, and classified with 3 stars. It is an old building, from the 13th century, which somewhat limits its comfort. It is in the old part of the city, with narrow streets that greatly limit access, and make you have to go up or down a few stairs from where you leave the car to the hotel. In our case the problem was that following the navigator we ended up getting the car into very very narrow streets, in which we were on the verge of getting stuck. The best option is to leave the car on the esplanade of the Church of San Miguel, with good access, and walk down to the hotel. Be careful not to enter the old area with your car. The breakfast buffet is quite limited. The rooms are at different heights but have an elevator. 5' to the center of Sciacca on foot

Good structure

Excellent position. Not equipped with parking but they are easily found nearby. Stairs to reach the hotel but absolutely doable. Excellent breakfast. Very nice structure. Room on the ground floor with only one window towards the internal courtyard therefore very humid and with a slight musty smell (room not equipped with a dehumidifier but only with an air conditioner).

If your nose works, do not stay here

Do you mainline febreze? bathe in cheap cologne? Hate the smell of nothing in your hotel room? Book a room here.
You could wash the stench out of your hair and leave quickly so the smell doesn’t follow you. It comes with a bonus for foot soak because the shower drains so slowly that the next person to shower gets to enjoy your dirty soap water.

A rotting whale at the beach
We prepaid for 2 rooms for 2 nights and left after breakfast (which was very good) after the first night. One room smelled so badly we needed to move. WiFi barely works. We have traveled enough to know that sometimes smells are unavoidable or they linger. Nothing compares to the sweet chemical odor at this hotel. Just gross.
