Strong recommendation
Spent five nights in Rome. Owner Paolo was very welcoming and clearly takes pride in his hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location good. Paolo also arranged transportation to the airport and gave us recommendations about nice restaurants etc. Would definitely choose Romatic again.

Be aware before booking this place...
The owner sent me those message one day before my arrival:

MAYBE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH I DONT CARE THAT YOU HAVE A RESERVATION AND THAT YOU PAID AGODA YOU WILL NOT COME INTO MY HOTEL AT THIS èPRICE

Do not come to the hotel because i have no room for you Agoda work very bad no advises me and using old prices.Here who decides is me not Agoda sir so is not polite to say contact customer service you contact them ok?
In stead of exchange message with someone like him I contacted Agoda and the customer service was super helpful, when I explained to her the behavior of the owner then she agreed to find me another accommodation nearby, without paying any extra cost, upgraded to a better room with view and breakfast, even phoned to the new property to explained the situation I just got through.
I didn't want to write a review about this because the problem was been solved then I got this message from the owner again after the cancellation of my booking:

I am a tolerant person but there is a limit! This place has really good reviews, I wondered why... I just sent the owner a message and asked him to stop ashamed his own country and leave me alone!

Questo poveraccio si è visto negare una stanza che aveva pagato ma la colpa non è certo mia!Agoda per il quale non lavoro piu non si preoccupa neanche se uno gli dice guardate che avete prenotato in overbooking sono anni che non mi mandate nessuno e scegliete il picco di prezenze per farlo?Capisco questo sognore anche se il suo linguaggio beh se avessi potuto spiegargli .La prossima volta sarebbe bastato fare una telefonata e non presentarsi lo stesso giorno senza avvertire neanche sull orario di arrivo.Comunque parole pensati io non parlerei di vergogna per il mio paese poveraccio dopo quello che fate a Hong Kong!!

Location, location, location
After booking the Romatic I contacted them almost immediately to ask about getting from the airport to the accommodation, the immediate reply came from the owner, Paolo, who was very helpful and listed several ways to get to the hotel and also offered to book a private car if we wished and he stressed that this was our choice entirely, after giving it some thought we decided to use the private car option as this was our first time in Italy and we felt it would be a more comfortable and stress free option, it was and we were glad we did it as the driver would show points of interest during the journey. Paolo was outside the residence to meet us and as well as handing us the keys to our room he also gave us a map and highlighted the places of interest and gave us tips to avoid tourist traps. He recommended a few restaurants nearby and also a few which were near some of the main attractions , places that were for locals more than tourists. We found the info he gave us to be of great value. The Romatic is in a residential apartment block in a nice area, 10 mins walk to the Vatican in one direction and 10 mins walk to the Olympico Stadio in the other direction. The area has plenty of bars, restaurants, cafe's and pizzeria, there is one small cafe next door to the Romatic.Each morning I would take a walk up to the metro and just across the road from it was an open doorway with steps leading down to an underground bakery , Dolce Maniera, with excellent sweet and savoury pastries, two cream filled croissant for €0.6 for instance.
The apartment is clean budget accommodation with a large comfortable bed, mini fridge, air conditioning, table and chairs. Cleaning was a daily occurrence and so were clean towels, Paolo was only a phone call away if you needed anything and there was free WiFi.
I wouldn't hesitate to book the Romatic again when I do go back to Rome as it's excellent location and the professional and courteous manner in which the owner wants you to have an enjoyable and safe stay in Rome was worth every penny, superb...

Ideal base for sightseeing in Rome
We stayed here at the start of our Italian trip for four nights. The accommodation is small and basic but clean and extremely well located for sightseeing. Donato, one of the owners, met us outside the apartment building when we arrived and was very helpful regarding travel and local sights, provided a map and also accommodated our minor extra requests. We were within half an hour walk of the Vatican but usually got the 32 bus from outside the building to the terminal. There is a grocery shop across the road from the guest house so we arranged our own breakfast daily. The bed was a good size and very comfortable. If you are looking for a no frills base close to the city centre this is great value for money.

Excellent quality/price!
Very affordable price and very good overall quality with very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Location is very good too: close to bus stops while metro station is still at walking distance make it easy to reach famous landmarks as well as less common ones that may still be of interest to many (for example, the Vigamus (video games museum) is right next to it!)
