Cheap, but little else to recommend it

Hotel del Centro is fairly cheap at 450 pesos for a single room. Beyond that, however, there is little reason to stay. The room was very small, threadbare, and poorly lighted--all things I could have dealt with. I lost patience, however, with the noise coming through paper-thin walls and a window that looked out to the next window just inches away. The blankets were inadequate for winter, though Monterrey rarely gets as cold as it was that night.
Lonely Planet, from which I found the place, describes an "antique-filled lobby" which is charitable since it looked like randomly assorted stuff to me. The hotel staff was very young and mostly unable to help with questions, though they were nice enough. (They do not speak any English if that is an issue for you.) They will not, for some reason, take reservations over the phone; you will need to show up in person.
The location is nothing special. It is near a few museums but is a good walk from the Barrio Antigua and Zona Rosa. I did not see many restaurants or other places to hang out.
Overall, there was nothing horrible to mark the place one to avoid, but the shortcomings are too numerous unless you really want to save a few dollars--and it is only a few you will save. Places in Zona Rosa will cost a bit more, but they will be nicer, much better situated, and quieter.

Pésimo servicio de recepción y malas instalaciones.

Mi habitación en particular no servía el teléfono, no quisieron darme toalla extra en recepción, la regadera no funcionaba bien (se salía el agua por todos lados), la puerta del baño no cerraba, al avisar de estos detalles en recepción no me dijo absolutamente nada, solo se quedó viéndome con molestia.
No tienen los servicios básicos (plancha de ropa e insumos extra) y realmente la atención de recepción deja mucho que desear.

Buen hotel para dormir y Bañarte

Por el precio que ofrece el Hotel creo que tiene buenas condiciones agua caliente dos toallas limpias cama quinsay se encuentra limpio aunque con algunos golpes en las paredes el cuarto que me toco, la señal de Wifi muy muy debil. Gerencia amable.

Mantenimiento

Es un hotel tradicional, la tv solo tiene canales básicos, la regadera poca presión es incómodo, la ubicación es buena.
Pudieran mejorar con mantenimiento y cambio de sabanas ya que da una apariencia de sucio y viejo en lo personal hay mejorcitos por el mismo precio
