AN EXTRAORDINARY HACIENDA IN THE HEART OF COATEPEC, THE CAPITAL OF MEXICAN COFFEE

I highly recommend this old Hacienda in the heart of the city, in the historic part. The amenities are complete, the rooms magnificent with AC and double glazing, with interior courtyards, a pool, fountains, a pool table, reception rooms, a magnificent restaurant. Of course, watch out for mosquitoes. The staff is friendly and attentive. Security is maximum. The parking lot for cars is quite large. The nearby visits are interesting with coffee haciendas that can be visited and, a few minutes away in the state capital of Veracruz, Xalapa, the most important archaeological museum in Mexico after the one in Mexico City.

Terrible hotel

The breakfast included is a juice and a coffee, terrible service because on both days we were there at 8 am they were hammering the wall making repairs.

A Charming Hotel

I spent 1 night here , this hotel was once the former home of a coffee baron , the hotel has many personal touches , there was a stuffed lion outside my bedroom. The room was very spacious , clean , an enormous comfortable bed , good WiFi signal & terrific shower. There is a lovely court yard with a fountain , a nice place to have a drink. I had an evening meal which was very nice. I enjoyed my stay here & would recommend.

A charming surprise

When you take the road backwards from Veracruz to Mexico City, Banderillas is a must for lunch. They have this charming restaurant with great Mexican seasoning. “Las Delicias”. This time was not just the lunch but an enchanting surprise. Inside this town, there is a Posada with the charm of Colonial style. Arches, Bolts, Patios, etc. Everything you expect of a Colonial Building. The staff makes you feel at home and the attention is very personal. Every room has its own special touch. The restaurant is wonderful for breakfast and the coffee is from the area. Great idea to make a stop here, just to enjoy the Posada.

Nice small hotel BUT need attention to details

Coatepec is a very small and nice town near Xalapa. There are not many attractions there so you´ll probably spend just one night or two. The place is quiet and full of plants and flowers. The room is large. The mattress is comfortable, the shower has good water pressure. BUT the bathroom has a terrible smell and has no windows. They have free wi-fi but only in the lobby and restaurant.
The meals are tasty BUT the service is really slow (even when there were just two tables were taken. I definitely think there´s room for improvement. The staff are kind.
