Boasting an outdoor pool and a sauna, Akbal Cancun is set in Cancún, 6.5 km from Cancun Government Palace and 7.1 km from Cancun Bus Station. The property has garden and city views, and is 19 km from La Isla Shopping Mall.

Very comfortable stay outside the hotel zone
This lodging is in a gorgeous, large and clean house in a very quiet part of Cancun.
We were only able to stay one night but we were so comfortable here and enjoyed meeting our warm and interesting hosts Peter and Veronica.
The room was comfortable, clean well lit and has fast internet. There is a very nice patio with table and umbrella where we had an excellent breakfast prepared by our hosts. We didn't get a chance to soak in the pool but it looks great.
The neighborhood and house are extremely quiet and safe. It is pretty easy to find using Waze. The house number between the front door and garage door is large and easy to see.
Unfortunately one of us had to see a doctor (minor illness); but on the positive side, Veronica got us an appointment that morning with an outstanding doctor. Something we were very grateful for.

It's like going home and staying with people who care about you. Nothing to worry about. The hosts go far and beyond.
We have had a long, cold and snowy winter and a very hectic work schedule so we wanted to have some R&R in a warm spot somewhere beautiful. Bed and Breakfast Cancun met all our needs and expectations. We love the beach, but not 10 days of it. We love Mexico for a whole lot of reasons. Peter and Veronica spoiled us royally. They picked us up on our arrival and took us back to the airport. They made us a very full and delicious breakfast on their patio every morning. They picked up fresh squeezed orange juice every morning. Breakfast started off with a plate of at least three fresh fruits. A large pot of wonderful Mexican coffee was on our table too. They provide a menu of six breakfast selections to choose from. It was a great way to start our day.
Peter and Veronica really know Cancun and were able to direct us to some fabulous restaurants. Twice we went out with them. One night when they were going to Puerto Cancun to a movie we got a ride with them and had dinner while they were at the movie. They told us where to go for the best beach experiences, including Playa Dolphines where you can rent a lounge and umbrella and order drinks. We also went to The Flamingos Restaurante where we could use the hammocks and lounge chairs and order drinks and have lunch.
Bed and Breakfast Cancun is not in the center but the buses and taxis are very cheap and we had no problem getting around. We spend a couple of days at the B&B just enjoying the pool and patio. We have stayed at B&Bs where the hosts expect you to leave during the day but Peter and Veronica did not mind us being around on the few days where we just wanted to enjoy the B&B. Veronica made appointments for me to go to the spas a couple of times. The prices for aesthetic treatments are very reasonable compared to Canada. I was very pleased with all that I had done. A couple of times Veronica took me so I wouldn't get lost and to explain the beauticians what I wanted done. You will not meet nicer, more hospitable and genuine people anywhere.
We had the large room with the ensuite bathroom. There were lots of big fluffy towels and the sheets were very nice quality. Everything was spotless. There was a TV and movies in our room. There is lots of storage room for your clothes. A thermos of cold
water was always provided on our bureau every night. The other two bedrooms on the second floor share a bathroom but the bedrooms are a good size and they also have their own TVs.
Peter and Veronica also have a two-bedroom house available for rent. It is delightful. It has a rooftop patio with a pool, bathroom, table and chairs and lounge chairs under a palapa. It is not far from the B&B. We spent an afternoon there enjoying the rooftop patio and pool.
There is so much to do in Cancun besides staying on the beach. There are ruins, the cenotes (underground lakes), the Xcarat environmental cultural park, many excellent restaurants and day trips to other Yucatan sites.
We have been travelling the world together since 1972. For what we wanted, we couldn't have done better than we did with our wonderful hosts Peter and Veronica.

Pleasant Stay at Bed and Breakfast Cancun
We stayed at Bed and Breakfast Cancun this past week and enjoyed our time there very much. It worked out perfectly for us to begin and finish our trip in Cancun while heading over to Merida as well. A couple times we headed out on foot in the evening to grab dinner. We felt comfortable walking around the area at night which was nice since we chose not to rent a car.
The Bed and Breakfast was clean, nicely decorated and overall comfortable. I felt at ease and relaxed there.
Additionally, the daily breakfast was spectacular. We were given a menu to select our breakfast dish of choice each morning. The ingredients were freshly sourced and presented beautifully.
Vero and Peter were accommodating and provided helpful travel tips, suggesting that we visit Isla Mujeres. Our time on the Isla was one of the highlights of our trip. We swam in the Caribbean Sea before heading inland to very hot Merida which I'm so glad we did.
We definitely recommend staying at Bed and Breakfast Cancun for travelers who want to relax in a comfortable place with caring hosts and fabulous food.

Recommanded without hesitation
Vero and Peter are the most adorable persons - I sent friends to their B&B and were amazed by the welcome as well as the beauty of the place. It is "spotless" and we recommand this place without any hesitation

Great Hospitality
My wife and I spent 2 days at this bed & breakfast. Right from the beginning, Peter and Veronica went above and beyond, offering to pick us up from the airport and taking us directly to their home, saving us the possibility of having to instruct a taxi driver.
Their house is very comfortable, and our room was spacious and quiet. What really make this a special place are two things, Veronica's great breakfasts and their willingness to do anything to help us out.
The only downside is the distance to tourist areas, but Peter and Veronica always ensured that we were well instructed on how to get around. For the price, however, there isn't a better bargain in Cancun.
Their house is very comfortable, and our room was spacious and quiet. What really make this a special place are two things, Veronica's great breakfasts and their willingness to do anything to help us out.
