The Ritz-Carlton Doha truly feels like a home away from home
A True Home Away From Home
I travel frequently for work, and while business travel can certainly sound glamorous — staying at some of the world’s finest hotels, travelling in comfortable cars and experiencing excellent service — the reality can be quite different. It often means long days, time away from family, tiring travel and arriving at a hotel with very simple priorities: a comfortable room, a good meal, a decent gym, a good night’s sleep, and an efficient journey to and from meetings.
What makes The Ritz-Carlton, Doha so special is that the team consistently manages to make that experience feel completely different. They genuinely make it feel like a home away from home.
From the moment I arrive, the warmth of the team is noticeable. Cef (Airport Welcome & Greet) was there to welcome me with such a friendly and genuine smile, and the airport transfers were always perfectly organised. On more than one occasion, I was greeted by name before I had even spotted the name board — a small detail, but one that makes a long journey feel so much more personal.
At the hotel, Kashaka, Lemuel & Suken (Lobby Reception) and Menel & Umut (Reception) were consistently warm, welcoming and incredibly efficient. They somehow manage to make every interaction feel personal rather than transactional, which is exactly what you appreciate when travelling frequently.
The little touches throughout my stay were also what really stood out. A complimentary cake and the thoughtful attention from the team genuinely did not go unnoticed. Even the housekeeping team seemed to turn each day into a competition to see who could create the most elaborate towel animal during turndown! Linkon & Mahfuz (Housekeeping – Turn Down) clearly put a lot of care and craftsmanship into these creations — and they brought a smile to my face at the end of long working days.
The food and beverage experience was exceptional. The food throughout the hotel was fantastic, the cocktails were excellent, and Tsitsi (B Lounge) was always incredibly friendly and attentive, with Yarub (B Lounge Supervisor) ensuring the experience was consistently excellent. The breakfast buffet deserves a special mention too — it is genuinely exceptional, with an impressive selection and, more importantly, a team that makes breakfast feel warm and welcoming rather than simply being another hotel buffet. Wael (Breakfast) was particularly memorable for his friendly and attentive service.
I also really appreciated Dulal (Gym), whose presence and friendliness made even fitting in a workout during a busy business trip feel more enjoyable.
Ultimately, what makes the Ritz-Carlton Doha stand out isn’t simply the beautiful hotel, the excellent facilities, the fantastic restaurants or the high level of service — you would expect all of those from a Ritz-Carlton. It is the people.
The team are incredibly friendly, genuinely happy to see you, and consistently willing to go above and beyond. Those little moments of kindness and personal attention make a huge difference when you are travelling for work and spending so much time away from home and family.
A very sincere thank you to everyone who looked after me during my stay, and especially to Cef, Kashaka, Lemuel, Suken, Menel, Umut, Tsitsi, Yarub, Linkon, Mahfuz, Dulal and Wael. You all made my stay genuinely memorable.

Fantastic welcome and service.
For our honeymoon, we stayed for a few days at the Ritz Carlton in Doha. I have never had such high-quality service from the staff. It is clear that the well-being of the guests is a priority and the great attention paid to us made our days splendid.
The breakfast is excellent, the restaurants included in the half-board package are too. (The best of the best were the STK Steakhouse and the B-Lounge.)
The room was magnificent with a cleaning service that always left a little note to start the day off right.

We spent a week at the Ritz‑Carlton Doha in August 2026, and our stay was significantly improved thanks to Cheriff Majdoub. When we arrived, we were surprised to learn that the buffet service something we had been looking forward to was not available during our stay. This left us concerned about dining options, especially with children. Cheriff stepped in immediately and handled everything with professionalism, reassurance, and genuine care. He organised our room arrangements, explained the alternative dining choices clearly, and made sure we felt supported from the very beginning. His calm guidance turned a worrying start into a smooth and enjoyable stay.
The hotel itself is beautiful elegant interiors, spacious areas, and a calm atmosphere throughout. Everything was kept extremely clean, and housekeeping maintained the room to a very high standard every day. Although the main pool was not available at the time, the property still offered a relaxing environment, and the staff ensured we had alternatives where possible.
With the buffet unavailable, we relied on the à la carte restaurants, and they delivered excellent meals throughout the week. We dined at STK and Sel & Miel, both offering great food and attentive service. The kids’ menu was especially helpful, with plenty of options that made dining easy for our children.
We also want to extend our appreciation to the staff who made our dining experiences memorable:
Adis, Samuel, and Wafae at Lagoon Restaurant their warmth, attentiveness, and kindness stood out every day. They made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.
Mohamed at Sel & Miel consistently professional, friendly and attentive.
Juden at STK Doha provided personal, thoughtful service that elevated every meal.
Even with the unexpected changes the buffet being unavailable and the pool closed the service from these individuals ensured our stay remained enjoyable and comfortable. But it was Cheriff Majdoub who set the tone and made sure our concerns were addressed from the start.
The Ritz‑Carlton Doha is a beautiful hotel with excellent service, high standards of cleanliness, and staff who truly care.
The gym was well‑maintained and comfortable to use. There were plenty of machines available, everything was clean, and the temperature inside was just right cool enough to exercise comfortably without feeling stuffy or warm.

Absolutely AMAZING
We had a brilliant stay at The Ritz-Carlton Doha and were made to feel so welcome from the minute we walked through the door.
Check-in was absolutely brilliant. We arrived early and they got us checked in straight away, the early check in was added bonus; especially after a long flight; this was really appreciated by the family. Anything we asked for during our stay, they sorted. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
A special mention has to go to Ziad and his team. What a brilliant asset Ziad is to The Ritz-Carlton. You can see the marvellous job he’s doing just by the way the whole place is run and how well everyone looks after you. He genuinely cares about the guests and making sure everything is right.
One thing I really noticed was how humble and welcoming everyone is. Everywhere you go, people smile, say hello and make you feel at home. It doesn’t feel forced either it’s just genuine hospitality and really good customer service.
The food was excellent with plenty of great choices. STK was our standout favourite for the family; absolutely loved it there. Great food, excellent choices and somewhere we would definitely go back to.
Breakfast was also really good and the lady (Dora) looking after breakfast and her team were wonderful. Again, nothing was too much trouble and they really looked after us.
The swimming pool is currently under construction, but we’ve seen the plans and it looks like it’s going to be amazing when it’s finished. Definitely something to look forward to on our next visit.
For me, a hotel can look amazing, but it’s the people who make you want to come back and that’s exactly what we found here. Ziad and his team are a credit to The Ritz-Carlton. The hospitality from everyone was fantastic and our family was really well looked after.
