The house is beautiful, staff/hosts are welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. Breakfast is delicious and the location is awesome.

Gouged !!!

I booked our accommodations through Expedia.ca for a Classic Room 1 Queen Bed. However, at the time of booking my wife had mobility issues so I requested a ground floor room if available. So be careful what you wish for you wish for you might just get it !! Upon arrival the owner said you requested a ground floor room and I responded yes. She gave me the room keys and pointed to the location. I should have noticed it had a notice on it indicating Private. It was a small dark room with two large wing chairs and two wooden dining or office chairs. There were lots of family photos around in addition to a large collection of books and DVD's. The closet had a large unopened Wayfair package standing in it reducing space for hanging clothes. The bed was a Murphy bed, possibly the room was used for an office or to accommodate family members. What light did enter the room was from a door to a enclosed veranda, It had a frosted glass panel which reduced light coming into the room. If you look at the Fitzroy Hall website the room I booked, Classic 1 Queen, looked very nice and would be worth $290 per night + taxes which I paid but for the pokey room we got no way.
I think the owner should have been transparent and advised prior to our arrival the only ground floor room available was one not usually rented and reserved for family.

This is a great destination close to downtown Charlottetown - walkable to anywhere on the waterfront. Although the property is quite old, it is well kept and has been upgraded with many amenities (e.g. air conditioning was appreciated on the hot August days we were there). The Victorian decor left our room feeling a little cluttered and there were not great options for plugging in various electronics - but we made it work. The bathroom was spacious with both a jacuzzi tub (that we didn’t try) and a walk in shower.
Breakfast was served at a communal table - it was fun meeting other travelers and exchanging tips - with three options each morning to choose from. All were delicious.

Top notch B&B

Ideal location with off-street parking and just a few minutes walk into town or to Government and Beaconsfield Houses. Well-appointed rooms with comfortable bed. Very clean. The breakfasts are very good. We found the wifi to be very slow - maybe not compatable with european phones. Would definitely stay here again.

The experience exceeded my expectations. The house is wonderfully furnished and so central to amazing restaurants and the core of Charlottetown. Helen and her grand-son were wonderful hosts. My time in PEI was absolutely amazing. Thank you.
