Suihoen is a recently renovated ryokan in Gero, where guests can make the most of its open-air bath and garden. This 4-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk, a lift and free WiFi.

I wanted to stay in a renovated Japanese-Western room.
It is a luxury inn where the food is delicious. It was a cozy inn, well serviced. It seems that I left the key somewhere, and the attendant went to look for it at dinner time, so when I tried to give the young landlady my heart for the attendant on the way home, she said, 'Because such things are commonplace...' He declined.
I thought it was great that they said it was natural to do something for the customer.
The only regret was that the Japanese and Western rooms were not available, so we stayed in the Japanese-style room.
They seem to have been renewing rooms one after another, and I think they would have been beautiful and comfortable in such a room, but the Japanese-style rooms were large but old and dim, which was very disappointing.
I would love to stay in a Japanese-Western room next time.

Luxury inn where you can also enjoy cooking
It was a pleasant time.
I recommend rooms with open-air baths, even if they are expensive. Good equipment and facilities.
The food is especially good, and Gero is top-notch. The lack of restaurants made it necessary to eat at the ryokan, and both dinner and morning were great!
There is also a shuttle bus to Gero Station, so it is convenient. Couples can be picked up and dropped off in a classic car.

On the third floor, the sound of the four towns echoes.
There were no particular items that left an impression on me, but the food was delicious.
The large bath was also comfortable, always to myself.
Customer service was good and cleaning was no problem.

Refrigerator with three drinks per person, coffee and hot ice cream for the duration of your stay.
However, since midnight, there have been noises such as door-pulling, walking, and banging (what?). It does, and from around 5am it resonates frequently.
In the morning, I could hear the sound especially, so I was convinced it was from above.
Sound from other rooms in inns and hotels is unpleasant, so do something about it.
If you are staying at an inexpensive inn, you might be inclined to put up with it, but it is one of the only luxury inns with 15 rooms.
The now defunct Hakone auberge fishing is a renovated Isuzu car dormitory, and I was prepared from the beginning.
The guests on the fourth floor probably don't know the sound reverberating on the lower floor.

Learn the Mind of Service
I ordered an additional one because I wanted to eat grilled ayu with salt for dinner. The course also contained grilled ayu, so we ended up with two plates. At dinner, I told Nakai-san that when I received the order, I wanted to explain something. I wish I'd checked it too. The next day, when I was checking out the departure, I received an offer from the inn to exclude it from the check-up because there was not enough explanation. I admired their very conscientious response. I learned the mind of service. The food is the best dinner I've ever had at an inn I've traveled to. The goodness of the seasoning leaves an impression. If you stay at Gero Onsen in the future, there is no other option. There is also a Japanese-style French restaurant, and I will try their cuisine next time. It is a recommended inn for those who value the quality of food.

I will give 11 points out of 10. Very good food and excellent service, the outdoor hot spring on the top of main building is very nice and elegant. I will definitely go back if i visit this area again.

According to the municipal ordinance, Gero City will begin collecting an accommodation tax from October 1, 2025. The tax amount is charged per person per night based on the accommodation fee: ¥100 for stays under ¥5,000 per person per night, and ¥200 for stays of ¥5,000 or more per person per night.
