Hotel came top of the list included in package deal. I made the right choice, great location and very comfortable stay.
The Doubletree came top of the list of hotel choices for a good value city break package on Lastminute.com and I'm really glad I chose this hotel. I needed to be within easy walking distance of the tram 7 stop to get to the Arena and Zagreb bus station and it was perfect. There is an excellent swimming pool and spa with a gym on the top 10th floor with fantastic views. My flight from Stansted was delayed and I didn't arrive at the hotel until 3am, the staff were brilliant and my room was exactly as I requested - a higher floor quiet room not near the lifts. Room 512, it's spacious and exactly what I wanted, nice view of the small park at the back and well equipped. I was glad there was a bath as well as the shower, I prefer a warm bubble bath before bedtime. The luxury Crabtree & Evelyn shampoos and shower gels was a bonus. There's a good choice of teas and coffees and a mini bar (chargeable, but I just used the fridge) Housekeeping staff gave me extras, dental kits and shaving kits are available if you ask. I didn't have breakfast included as there are places walking distance away to eat which are much cheaper. The nearest tram stop is tram lines 2 and 3, walk a bit further and the other tram stops serve lines 6 and 7 and other lines. The airport bus leaves every 30 minutes from the main bus station which is walking distance from the hotel, but it was so hot that I got the tram there (only two stops). The only problem I had here was that the ice machine on 5th floor broke down, it was working fine, then about half an hour after I'd used it, a noise sounding like a vacuum cleaner was heard down the corridor, but there was nobody vacuuming or using any machinery anywhere. Then I went to investigate and discovered the noise was coming from the ice machine and it was leaking everywhere. I alerted a member of the housekeeping staff who unplugged the machine. It obviously needed maintenance, there was another two guests who used it after I did, because of the hot weather I guess it was very popular and just malfunctioned. I've noticed another review on here mentioning that other ice machines weren't working, but 5th floor machine was absolutely fine until my third night here. The health club was my highlight, the pool is a good size hotel pool and there are two saunas and a steam room. The lady who works at the reception was very helpful. You need to ask for a locker key if you wish to use the changing room lockers. There are drinking water machines and complimentary fruit (apples, pears, bananas) in reception area by gym. Beauty treatments like skin facials and massages (advance bookings required) are also on offer here, there's a brochure available at reception. I would definitely stay here again next time I come to Zagreb, it's not in the city centre, but that doesn't matter as trams and buses are so frequent and very cheap to easily get around the city. For taxis I recommend using Bolt, it's about 15-16 euros with Bolt from the airport late at night, the cabs outside are 30 euros. ZET buses only run until around midnight as do the trams.

It was average
I went to the hotel for our couple’s stay everything was good the room the reception the breakfast buffet was good only the dinner was very bad , I order one grilled salmon and chicken both were terrible, when I sent the dish back unfinished they did not even bother to ask if anything was wrong with the food , the waiter there was completely rude , my husband said that the olive oil is finished and instead of politely informing that we were doing something wrong he poured so much olive oil in his bread on his food directly even he took one plate and wasted so much olive oil just to show us that there is still some in the bottle , very bad experience with the restaurant. I will be not going back there and would not recommend as well , if you would like to stay for just a night or couple of nights it’s good but only include breakfast dinner is not worth it.

Very Disappointing Experience
DoubleTree by Hilton Zagreb did not meet the standards one would expect from the Hilton brand. The pool, jacuzzi and gym facilities were out of service in the middle of August, without any prior notice.
The hotel staff’s attitude, especially that of the Guest Service Supervisor, Filip Krizanic, left a lot to be desired. There was absolutely no willingness to respond, show flexibility or offer any form of compensation, and, above all, a complete lack of helpfulness or empathy towards guests.
Not to mention the prices: €5 for a 200 ml bottle of water, or 30€ parking one night... This is not the level of service one would expect from a hotel operating under such a well-known brand.

Our experience was very disappointing. Most of the staff were rather unfriendly and seemed to have little interest in being helpful or making guests feel welcome. The restaurant is very expensive for what it offers, and we were unable to use the facilities (pool and spa) because they were under renovation—something that was never disclosed or communicated to us when we made the booking.
In fact, these facilities were one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, yet they were unavailable and there was no warning anywhere. We only found out upon arriving at the hotel, after we had already paid in advance.
We also contacted the hotel beforehand regarding parking and never received a response. Once we arrived, we were told that parking cost €30. We only needed to use the car park for a few hours that evening and moved the car the following morning, yet we were still charged the full €30.
When we raised our concerns about this, we were referred to the hotel’s Front Office Manager / Guest Service Supervisor, Filip Krizanic. His attitude was remarkably inflexible and rude. He barely listened to us and repeatedly spoke over us, with an arrogant, dismissive and disrespectful manner throughout the conversation. When we told him as we were leaving that we would be posting a negative review of the hotel, he literally told us that he did not care.
Overall, the service was exceptionally poor, and the hotel itself is mediocre considering both the price and the reputation of the brand. I would not recommend it, and we certainly will not be returning—either to this hotel or, after this experience, to the brand.

Not great
Good reception service but breakfast staff service was poor. Unfriendly and no enthusiasm shown - unwillingness to provide basics like coffee stirrers or replenishment of items. Also for a well known brand and as with other hotels in the chain there was no allergens or signage for vegetarians or vegan items which was very disappointing
