We love you George
We have been staying in Lindos for the past 14 years and always go back to George.
The apartments are in a fantastic position - far enough out of Lindos centre to be quiet but only minutes away from the supermarket (in particular Dimitri's - the nicest guy in the world). If you want to sit and chill after a lovely meal, drinking Mythos in the moonlight, you cannot beat George's courtyard
We always request room 1 and have never haqd a problem. George is very friendly and good to have a chat with - one year we had a powercut and his dad came and sorted it out within the hour.
Lindos is gorgeous and everyone makes you feel welcome - especially Yannis at the Acropolis restaurant .
It's true that George is at the top of the hill but that's great for us - and the pool at Lindos view is only a minute away.

Lovely Lindos
Our third stay in Lindos so we knew what to expect apart from the trek to George Studios. We read the previous review before going but just didn't believe the hike back to the studio could be that bad, but it was! It didn't spoil our holiday though. Once you accept it you just get on with it. The steps just outside the studios are the worst part as no rails and quite steep and treacherous although can be avoided if you want to go the longer way round. George the owner is very nice and also works on the beach sunbeds. The studios themselves are very good with a wet floor shower which dries in about 10 minutes. George recommended some restaurants for us where the owners are Lindos people as a lot of them are rented out each year by outsiders. Amongst others he recommended were the Acropolis (two of the waiters also work in the beach taverna to the right on the main beach and are so comical), Ceasars, Dionnysis and Stephany's (next door to each other) all have roof-top areas and we enjoyed them all. In the evening we like to sit outside Pals people watching and find it fascinating wondering where people have come from. We will definitely be going back but will try some studios a bit nearer the centre.

Damp Experience At George Studios
Just returned from a week at George Studios in Lindos.
Lindos was very beautiful, we loved the rabbit warren of streets, although there are only so many gift shops you can look around.
The food was excellent and reasonablly priced, we ate at a different restaurant every night, and couldn't fault any of the meals. The prices were also pretty much the same at each restaurant.
The situation of George Studios (although it was a very steep walk to and from the village) was lovely. It looked down onto the village and across at the acropolis.
However the studio itself (no. 2) was not nice to say the least. The moment we walked in it smelt damp and musty. This we found was due to the fact that there is no ventilation whatsoever in the shower, nowhere to put a window or extractor. I spent the week lying on a beach towel because the bed felt damp.
The cooking facilities consisted of a tiny two ring hob, one burner no bigger than a jam jar lid.
We were fortunate enough not to need air conditioning as the cost was 56 euros a week. The cost to hire the fan was 20 euros per week (we didn't bother with that either).
I don't mind basic, but I do expect comfort and sleeping on a damp bed in a musty smelling room is not my idea of comfort.
Although we may return to Lindos at some time, we won't be returning to George Studios.

George Studios, Lindos........this studio is situated among a couple of other studios with a communal patio with tables & chairs, if like us you stay in room No1 then prepare yourself for some noise from other guests as these tables & chairs are directly outside your room, Air con is available at a price, around £80(uk pounds) for the 2 weeks the safe key was around £17, please note that the studios are situated (it seems) half way up a mountain side, in order to visit the shops bars etc of Lindos you have to walk down some very very steep paths, which in some places have been worn down by the many donkeys making it a very hazardous journey indeed, we were not impressed by this steep incline and indeed the walk back to the studio was just as hazardous, no place for high heels here, many a night we decided to take a cab ride back to our room as we could not face the walk back, you have been warned......just above the studios lies the main road which joins Rhodes to Pefkos, Lardos etc, not too noisy, you can make a little trip down this road to Lindos Views Hotel who allow you to use their pool, sunbeds etc, although beware, their prices for drinks food etc are a bit more expensive then the town, a little further down this road leads you to a bus/coach stop, here you can pick up a free bus ride to Lindos market square, although these appear to stop running after 5 pm, the journey from here to the beach is just as hazardous, a long steep pathway. The small town of Lindos is very nice, plenty of shops, bars, tavernas and restaurants, all with no pressure to enter these premises, we found that during the hours of 11am and 4 pm the town was flooded with day trippers, thousands of em, lol. The Acropolis is a must, fantastic views of the surrounding areas, lastly the main beach, if you use the sunbeds/brolleys, will cost you 8 euros, pretty expensive if you stay for 2 weeks, there are pedalos at 10 euros an hour..all in all we found Lindos to be quite expensive, prices appearing to be the same as in the UK, Finally, our tour operator.......Kosmar, never again, our itinary showed our flight departing at 20.20 on the sat night only to find when the tickets arrived the flight had been moved forward to 23.50, therefore arriving at our room at 08.00 the sunday morning, giving us only 13 nights, which Kosmar refused to accept, stating our room was booked at 12.30 the saturday before, which sounds great, paying for something we could not use due to the change of flight times, the day of leaving was even better, to be kicked out our room at 12.00 saturday afternoon with no provision for a room with shower, etc.......our flight was not untill 06.30 the sunday morning,our rep was quite unhelpfull saying it depended on other flights arriving, in the end i had to fork out 35 euros to hire a private room, please check before you book what the score is.....
