A történelmi Máleme tengerparti falu szélén, nagyszerű helyen található impozáns, családi üzemeltetésű üdülőház a hagyományos görög építészet egyik szép példája.

Amazing family run hotel!
Final day staying here with my 2 kids.
Location: perfect base to travel to Chania centre, Elafonisi, Balos and Falassarna beach is just 50 minutes away. In fact went twice as it's so beautiful. The town itself is small but has a choice of restaurants and tavernas in the town itself and by the sea. The beach is just a 10 minute walk away at the most.
Atmosphere: the hotel is run by brother and sister Vassilis and Athena. Extremely friendly, informal on a first name basis which is great and helpful with lots of tips and information about the area. Very relaxed vibe, spotlessly clean everywhere as is the pool. Lovely surroundings with lots of plants and trees and guests encouraged to get to know each other, but not forced!
Rooms: very traditional which wouldn't suit someone looking for modern luxury but perfect for us and very fitting with what this place is about. We had 3 single beds on the ground floor with a table and chairs outside. Rooms have a fridge and we were given a kettle, plates, cups, bowls and cutlery and a big bowl to wash towels etc.. There's a washing line to hang out. There's no air conditioning but the wall fan was enough. There's also a small safe.
Love the fact that that the hotel is environmentally friendly and the rooms also have a booklet with lots of information about places to visit and also organise trips.

Simple hotel, but great value for money. The owner, Vassilis, and his sister are very helpful people. Highly recommended!

A pleasant surprise
We stayed at the facility for 5 days. A quiet and relaxing place, convenient for traveling to visit the western part of Crete. Characteristic environment, the owners were very kind and advised us on places to visit and restaurants. There are beach umbrellas available for use and a fridge in the room. Excellent value for money. The beach is easily reachable on foot.

A simple secret hideaway
Summer Lodge was a great base for me to visit friends in Kissamos and Chania. It is a true family run establishment, quite small with a genuine sense of personal care and friendliness - from the managers to the cleaner. My room was simple but had all the essentials. It was quiet, private and stayed cool in temperatures over 30 deg. Wifi was available throughout. The pool was clean and well maintained. Swallows were nesting undisturbed in the buildings. The whole place had an atmosphere of calm and peace. The beach is a short (400mtr) walk away and there are shops and restaurants within easy reach. I relied on the bus service to get around. It runs on an hourly basis between Chania and Kissamos. Buses are punctual, clean, air-conditioned and incredibly cheap. Overall, if you are looking for a unique and special place to stay in Western Crete, that is not a busy commercial resort, I can highly recommend Summer Lodge.

smelly rooms probably cause of the decorative carpets on the walls. found a bedbug and changed room.
