Nice restaurant and bar area, and staff were all very good. There is a good patio area with tables to the front of the property and it was easy to park. The music being played during the evening was excellent.
Breakfast was pleasant but my full English was overdone slightly - hot but a bit on the crispy side. Having said that, dinner the night before was very good.
The room was clean but the aircon was very noisy so we had to turn it off and it was very warm. The bathroom was clean but the shower had a mind of it's own and kept deciding what temperature it wanted to be despite what setting I wanted.
All in all, a very good hotel with good food and staff.

Good with flaws

The building is really nice, the rooms are a decent size, reasonably clean. Beds are comfy. The location is perfect and has a great view although our room didn't. Rooms are noisy, there's no sound protection, it sounded like people were moving furniture at midnight and this went on both nights. Staff are really friendly and helpful. (Mike in particular was very Nice) What let it down most was the breakfast, food was terrible and service was slow. There's things I don't eat and they weren't even willing to add a bit of bacon or mushrooms although I was willing to pay extra. In hindsight it was good they didn't as the quality was poor.

Very poor food experience

We had dinner last night which was very disappointing. All the specials were off, so only the limited standard menu was available. The hallumi burger consisted of two sticks in a bun, and the coleslaw wasn't home made. The quiche was bland and unappealing. No-one came to take our sweet order so we left early. The staff all looked fed up. Other diners had left their food. It's a shame after a very extravagant refurbishment and new owners.

We got stuck in traffic on the M5 for an hour we phoned the hotel.
We was greeted with what time will you be here and you need to be here before 11.00.
We got to the hotel at 9.40 we were then told its last orders we purchased three drinks and was told to drink up.
The hotel staff were drinking but we and two other comples were asked to leave the bar area is closed.
It was all about them being busy and working from 6.00am and they need to go home,
Also the noise upstairs was from 6.30am sounded like kids running around and then at 7.30am bottles being loaded and a lorry moving bins.
Don’t stay here it’s horrible.

Awful

Sunday lunch was awful I asked if the beef would be pink or overcooked they said it will be pink but might be cold because it was pink , I went for pink , omg it. Was so overcooked , veg over cooked parsnips undercooked gravy congealed, no stuffing but gave 2 Yorkshire puds , I complained waiter said it’s Mike manager not me I can’t do anything about it , when I went up to pay Mike walked away not even looking at us … that’s management…never again awful
