Best fishing experience ever

A wonderful experience. I went to Ichingo to primarily fish for Tiger Fish. Robert my guide worked tirelessly to ensure that I came away with an amazing fishing experience. Robert is so knowledgeable but not only on fishing, but on wildlife and bird life. I learnt about different bird species as we were fishing. The fishing was hard, but rewarding and I cam away with a few good sized Tigers. Robert is a thorough gentleman.
At the lodge Rector and Cassius run a first class experience. The food was lovely - for example kingklip cooked to perfection, with starters and dessert. They were so generous that I had to ask them to prepare less for me at lunch time because I could not manage 3 big delicious meals each day.. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and kind. I travelled by myself but at no time did i feel lonely - I was made to feel at home. The bungalow was a luxury tent right on the rapids so I went to sleep each night with the sound of the rapids. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a unique game viewing experience from a boat, or excellent fishing to go to this lovely lodge.

Fantastic trip

Had an awesome experience, hospitality was great, very friendly and helpful staff, all meals were fantastic. To top it off fishing was good even though conditions were not conducive (serve flooding at the time)
Will definitely be going back!

Authentic African River Experience - most enjoyable

An authentic, African river experience in that the location of the tented camp is on the banks of the Chobe river under tall, dense trees. Huge diversity of birds which is ideal for bird photography. The Chobe river is a centre piece of the destination - beautiful in early morning & evening light. Lots of hippo & crocodiles add to the experience. The staff at both the lodge & river boat (Princess 3) are exceptional. Well trained & professional. And friendly. Nothing is too much to ask for. The food on offer is as good as one gets in a 5-star game lodge in Southern Africa. As a bird photographer, the tented camp, guided tender boats and access to the river foliage is better than shooting off the river boat from a photographic boat looking for subjects in the river reed banks. The tender boats are more manoeuvrable than the larger photographic boats. And our guide, Anthony, did a great & patient job putting me in the best place to take photos. The only slightly negative comment, is the state of the tents. They are tired & need to be freshened up. Staff should also open & lighten them up for returning guests. However, my wife & I still loved the entire experience.

Magical

We had a four night stay here and it was just enough. We saw some great wildlife and got fantastic photos of birdlife. Big plus for us was having our own boat and guide so each morning and night we could alter the trips to suit us. Lodge was fine, food adequate. Staff excellent.
