A most charming lodge
Destiny Blo Inn is a nice lodge located in Kachikau next to Chobe National Park on road B334. The guesthouse offers 5 individual cabins, a camp site, restaurant & lobby with terrace, garden with small pool, laundry service & secure parking, and good WiFi. The lodge is very well kept and provides a quiet atmosphere. The owner is a remarkable man. Build the lodge himself on land of his family. Manages the property in a charming way. He is an experienced game & Chobe guide. With him you can go for game rides, night game drives and nature walks. He has horses and cows. In the late afternoon drivers bring the cows back to the protected cattle kraal. Our room had a very good kingsize bed with a huge mosquito net, tea & Nescafé facility, fridge & wardrobe, airco & TV, and table & 2 chairs. We had a separate bathroom with washbasin, toilet & shower. All was clean. A good breakfast is served: home made bread & butter, yoghurt & milk, jams & juice, cereals & fruit, tea & coffee. Eggs made to order with bacon are extra. Destiny Blo Inn is a charming accommodation, and we had a most pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

Rewarding
We spent three nights in March at the Destiny Blo Inn, occupying two units. The units and were clean, airy and pleasant to be in and the kitchen produced excellent meals. The highlight was having the manager, Chimney, lead us on an all day tour in the nearby Chobe National Park. At this point in our travels in Southern Africa, we had done quite a few guided trips in wildlife refuges. This was, however, an exceptional experience due to Chimney's knowledge of the area and its inhabitants and the remarkable number of animals and size of herds we saw. I heartily recommend the Inn, its food and services.

An Unforgettable, Authentic Botswana Experience – Incredible Wildlife, Culture, and Exceptional Value
We cannot recommend this place highly enough. As experienced safari travellers, we were genuinely impressed by the quality, depth, and variety of the experiences offered here. Chimney, a local Setswana who has lovingly transformed his family farm into a game lodge, is deeply passionate about wildlife and conservation. His dream of bringing together traditional farming life with the wild animals that move through the reserve is inspiring, and getting to know him and Pricilla added something truly special to our stay.
The range of landscapes and activities is outstanding. We explored Chobe, the forest reserve, and the remarkable Savuti region on a full‑day drive—each area completely different, each offering its own atmosphere, wildlife, and scenery. The many ancient baobabs scattered across the landscape were unforgettable, giving the region a magical, timeless feeling.
The wildlife was exceptional, even by seasoned-safari standards: hundreds of elephants playing and crossing the river, a pack of 11 wild dogs, buffalo, giraffe, and an ongoing array of animals across every drive. We enjoyed morning and afternoon drives, a magical night drive, and a peaceful boat safari that offered a whole new vantage point from the water.
And the value for money is honestly extraordinary—especially given our experience with safari travel. The sheer range of activities, the quality of guiding, the personal attention, the cultural insight, and the immersive access to such diverse ecosystems far exceeded what we expected for the price. It's rare to find this level of generosity, variety, and authenticity at this cost.
The hospitality was exceptional. We were treated with genuine warmth, care, and attentiveness throughout our stay. Getting to know a local family, learning about Setswana culture, and understanding the realities of farming alongside wildlife made the experience richer and more meaningful.
This is far more than a safari—it is connection, culture, landscape, and wildlife all woven together. As seasoned safari travellers, we can say confidently that this is a standout experience. We would return in a heartbeat.

Cheap and good hotel in Kachikau
Small, cozy and relatively new hotel with only five rooms and adjacent campsite on a farm in Kachikau.
The rooms are small houses with bathroom, air conditioning and large king size beds.
In the middle of the complex is a small pool, next door is the open dining room with lounge and a Honesty bar.
Both for breakfast and dinner was lovingly stocked, the food offered was delicious and high quality. Among other things, there were fruits/vegetables from the own garden which is grown without chemical fertilizer.
The host “Chimney” (also speaks German!) and his team were very friendly and tried to make our stay pleasant.
The hotel is a heartfelt project for Chimney and the first of its kind in the area. In doing so, he builds on cooperation with farmers in the area and is committed to animal welfare.
We stayed there only for the night, the host also offers game drives to Chobe Park.
This is not a “luxury” accommodation, small defects are visible here and there. For the reasonable price, however, a very good overall experience is offered.

Great place to stay in Chobe!
What a great place to stay! The room was perfect with a comfortable bed, hot shower, all in a beautiful, quiet setting. The food was delicious. The property is set in a farming community and the owner is a local working with the community for sustainable balance between tourism and agriculture, the kind of place we try and support. Chimney (the owner) was the best guide we’ve had in 2+ months in Africa. His knowledge was incredible and included all birds, plus he spotted things we never would have and showed tremendous respect for the environment. Highly recommend!
