We had a quick one night stuff over in Ghent on our way to Germany so this was a perfect place to stay and Central for a quick explore of the city.
I was disappointed when I arrived to find that the road that the hotel is on was not accessible by Car due to major roadworks going on. It would have been very helpful for the hotel to have contacted us to inform us of this as it then meant that we parked in a car park about five minute walk away. The hotel staff did not seem to be well informed or particularly attentive of our need for parking, thankfully we managed to find parking ourselves.

The hotel is a bit old . The photos advertised it look a lot better than the actual hotel .
Road works outside did not help . More expensive than it is worth what we payed .

Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. The overall condition of the hotel and room did not match my expectations at all.
The room was extremely small and cramped, even for one person, and it felt dirty and had an unpleasant smell. The towels looked old and did not feel clean or fresh. The doors felt very thin, almost like cardboard, so noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway was clearly audible.
Access to the hotel was also very inconvenient because of construction directly in front of the property, and parking access was difficult. The hotel offered very limited amenities, and even some basic details were poorly maintained—for example, one of the USB charging ports near the bed was broken.
What made the experience significantly worse was my interaction with the receptionist, Arthur. When I simply asked why I was being charged an additional 3% fee, instead of clearly explaining the charge, he responded in a very condescending manner and began telling me about how things supposedly work in all 53 countries he had traveled to. The tone was unnecessary, arrogant, and completely inappropriate for someone working in hospitality. I was asking a reasonable question about a charge on my bill, not asking to be lectured.
His attitude made an already disappointing stay genuinely unpleasant and left a very negative impression of the hotel’s customer service.
For the price and the online ratings, I expected a better service.

Hotel was as expected. Good location to all the sites. The shower was very tight but served the purpose.
