Exceptional Hospitality and One of the Best Hotel Experiences We’ve Had

As a Danish family of four (two adults and two children), we have stayed in many hotels across Europe and outside Europe,- and Harbour Hotel Sarandë is without question one of the very best family-run hotels we have experienced.
What makes this hotel truly exceptional is its people. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, genuinely caring and highly professional. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived until the day we left.
One of the most memorable parts of our stay was getting to know the family behind the hotel. They generously shared insights on Albania’s history, culture and society, answering our questions with openness and enthusiasm. These conversations became one of the highlights of our holiday and gave both us and our children an understanding of the country that no guidebook or organised tour could ever provide.
The hotel itself is maintained to an exceptionally high standard. Our suite was cleaned thoroughly every day—not only were towels replaced and toiletries replenished, but the floors were washed daily as well. Every part of the hotel was spotless and reflected the pride the owners clearly take in their new and modern property.
Breakfast was excellent each morning, with fresh, high-quality food prepared by the hotel’s own chef. It was the perfect start to every day.
One detail that particularly touched us was the way the hotel cares for the local stray dogs. Every evening they provide them with proper dog food and ensure they are looked after. Sadly, this level of compassion is not something you often encounter, and it speaks volumes about the values of the family running the hotel.
The only minor points worth mentioning are that the Executive Suite is one large room separated by a partition wall rather than two fully separate bedrooms, and despite requesting a lock for the bathroom door, one was never installed during our stay.
Neither of these issues had any significant impact on what was otherwise an outstanding experience.
If you are looking for genuine hospitality, exceptional cleanliness, excellent food and a hotel where the owners truly care about both their guests and their community, Harbour Hotel is an easy five-star recommendation.
We would return without hesitation.

Offended and dissatisfied with the management

Beautiful, recent hotel with a pool. We were satisfied at first, then we were disillusioned at checkout: the hotel manager made us pay for drinks that were not even in the minibar. The tone escalated and he never wanted to acknowledge the mistake that had been made in stocking our room's minibar. He remained in bad faith and was unpleasant. We could have recommended this establishment, but we do not recommend it and will not return either. There is a real problem with the manager who does not question internal issues. Furthermore, we had dinner at the hotel and consumed drinks by the pool. We left the hotel with a very bad feeling, considered as liars!!!

Nice Hotel

A family-run hotel with wonderful staff, excellent food, and outstanding service. It is located in one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of Saranda.

Amazing service

Great hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it.
