This family-run bed and breakfast is located in Weimar, 400 metres from Weimar City Palace. The buffet breakfast at dieSonne consists of regional and international delicacies as well as freshly baked goods, vegetarian spreads and a selection of tea.

Excellent pension
The small, cozy single room is practically furnished, you have everything you need. It is extremely clean, the bed is very comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Staff are also super friendly. It doesn't get any better, always happy.

Good location, nice decor, comfortable bed, but staff rude and incompetent
Nice little hotel, nicely decorated, close to the center, but quiet. Train station about 15 minutes walk away.

Staff 50/50...
But - - - the shower was a trickle and the water was only lukewarm!
The lady on the emergency phone first explained to me how a shower works (!) and then, quote: "What should I do now? I'm not a plumber"
Not the answer you would expect from a hotel with a problem like this.
So - the evening before my business appointment and the next morning it was "The search for the lukewarm drops of water"
The reception should have been manned, but it wasn't, so I didn't have an iron (the unmanned reception had been communicated 2 days before, but I was already away on a business trip). Only a friendly retailer, from whom I bought an item of clothing and who lent me his iron, helped me to arrive appropriately for my business appointment.
It was very cold at night, the heating was turned off and there was only one blanket in the room. There were also only two towels and only two very soft pillows (I like to sleep higher...). Everything was very "counted out", which I don't like.
Safe, yes, but in a mini format, suitable for jewelry at most. Laptop, camera - no chance.
When I checked out, I was neither given a discount for the inconvenience - to put it mildly - of the shower, nor was I offered at least a free drink.
So, despite the good location and nice decor, I don't recommend it, and if I travel to Weimar on business next time, I will stay in Erfurt, as I always have done, which is only 15 minutes away by train.

Recommended...... Sehr empfehlenswert.
We spent one night in this very pleasant hotel, well located, convenient to access and we can only recommend it. Very professional welcome, comfortable surroundings, very good breakfast....in short, everything you need for a good stay.

Quaint little place. Overall I enjoyed the proximity to the conference area I was going to. The pricing was excellent and overall it was renovated in the right places. I would stay again for sure, but beware there is no elevator!
