A wonderful week
We had a wonderful, relaxing week in Tsilivi, staying at Zante View studios at the beginning of June. Our opinion in a bit more detail:
*We found that Spiros and his family were excellent hosts. Friendly and welcoming but not obtrusive.
*The studios are basic, a little dated, but clean and we were very comfortable.
*Bathroom is small, but serves its purpose.
*The water pressure and temperature can be a bit temperamental. It’s good to be aware of this if this is your first visit to a Greek island. Probably not a surprise if you’ve been to one before. We consider this part of the charm :)
*The walk up the hill can feel like a bit of a workout sometimes, specially in the heat, but it’s definitely doable. For us ( a fat middle aged couple and a smoking pensioner) the walk up from the closest restaurant / shops on the strip (Micri Acropoli) took 15 minutes and around 22/25 minutes from our favourite beach bar, Freddie’s.
*The name of the hotel is really spot on, breathtaking views all around. No photo does the scenery justice. From the balcony there is great view to the sea and you can watch the sunrise, while there are a table and chairs by the door too so you can have your morning coffee in shade while enjoying excellent view to the hills/ Turtle island or watch the sunset in the evening.
*The air conditioner and safe were both free of charge, which is a very nice touch. Air conditioning and fridge worked great and there is also a hair dryer.
*The cleaning ladies were also lovely and done a great job.
*The bar was excellent, very reasonably priced and everything we tried was delicious.
*We generally prefer to swim in the sea, but it was great to have the pool around for a quick dip. It was clean and there were always free sun beds when we wanted to use them. The toilets around the pool/ bar were also clean and in excellent condition.
*If I could make one recommendation, that would be to have a menu on each table at the bar. I think it helps people make easier decisions when they see what’s on offer/ helps sales along.
Sorry for the long review, I guess the bottom line is we had a great time and would definitely return!

Lovely family hotel, the brother and sister are so lovely. The pool is great for the kids, the views from the bar are amazing and we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. The beer is ice cold and they have a few Greek ones to pick from.

Fantastic place
We stopped at the Villa Zanta Athina which is part of the Zante View complex. The villa was huge and fantastic it was regularly cleaned and the pool was cleaned every morning. We only booked for a week but wished we'd booked a longer stay, our 5 year old granddaughter didn't want to come home she said it was her mansion. The family who run the complex are lovely friendly and helpful people. Would definitely go back.

Warm welcome, lovely views
Appreciated the welcome we got from the family which made us feel at home.
My sister was getting married on the island so it was important to have a nice base.
The views were incredible, especially the beautiful sunsets out the back.
The room was basic but comfortable and had everything we needed. The balcony is especially nice.
I particularly appreciated it one night when some guests arrived late and were very noisy. I messaged the hotel (I wasn't even sure if someone would read the messages at that hour) and after establishing the situation via replies in excellent English the lady knocked on the door of the people being noisy and resolved the situation perfectly. She even apologized (obviously no need, not her fault!) when she next saw me- it is great when people care about such things.
It is a bit of a walk up from the main street but as long as you can manage that (it isn't that far and there is a supermarket very conveniently situated), this is a gem of a place to stay.

Beautiful place to stay
We booked our trip very last minute and I picked here based on other reviews I had read. We weren’t disappointed with our choice in any way. The complex is lovely, nice clean pool area, lovely bar and lots of seating outside to take in the most of the stunning views. Our room was lovely, yes they are fairly simple, but we found them to be well equipped and spotlessly clean (cleaner also came in every day during our week stay) We had a lovely patio overlooking the pool at the front with views to the sea and also extra seating by the front door so we could watch the sunset over the back. The best thing about this place though is the family that own it, they all made us feel so welcome, on our first day Spiros kindled gave my partner a lift down to the mini market to grab some essentials which we thought was lovely. The whole family are just lovely.
The walk into town takes about 20 mins, but further to the beach but is a lovely walk downhill. Going back up is definitely harder work, but even with a 5 year old and a teenager we did it without too much moaning. We did use a taxi a few times to head back after a day by the beach but was only €10 so we felt this was good value.
We enjoyed our stay so much even though a lot of places were closed due to the season not starting til 1st May, that we have booked to go back for 2 weeks at the end of August. Looking forward to seeing Spiros, Stella and the rest of the family again
